Resumo: This study investigated the psychological predictors of mathematics self-efficacy (MSE) and mathematics anxiety (MA) among 152 adult learners retaking GCSE mathematics in Further Education (FE) colleges across England. In a context where many FE students struggle with these critical psychological factors, this exploratory correlational study examined the impact of students' self-beliefs (mindset, self-concept, self-regulation) and their perceptions of past and present teachers. Using hierarchical regression models, the research found that mindset, self-concept, and self-regulation were significant predictors of higher MSE. This is joint work with T.
